Putting in your contact lenses in 4 easy steps:
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly, then place the lens on the tip of your index finger.
- With the same hand, pull your lower eyelid down with your middle finger.
- With your opposite hand, use your index finger to pull up your upper eyelid.
- Look up and gently place the lens on the lower white part of your eye. Close your eye to centre the lens. Repeat on the other side.
Taking out your contacts is easy as 1-2-3:
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Look up and pull your lower eyelid down with your middle finger.
- With your opposite hand pinch your lens between your index finger and thumb and gently pull.
- Place each lens in the proper case compartment filled with a Biotrue® Multi-Purpose Solution.
Never reuse old solution:
Safety first when it comes to your eyes, and that means ensuring you use fresh solution every time you clean and store your lenses – and you check how often you need to change it even when you’re not wearing your lenses daily.
Remove your lenses before showering or swimming
Water can carry unknown bacteria and the U.S. FDA recommends not exposing lenses to any form of water. If you do wear your lenses while showering or swimming, take extra care to avoid getting water in your eyes.
Keep your eyes moisturized on flights.
Airline cabins have reduced atmospheric pressure, reduced humidity and dry air which can cause dryness and discomfort. We recommend keeping a moisturizing drop on hand when flying.
Replace your contact lens storage case every month
Clean the case after every use and keep it
open and dry between cleanings.
Never put contacts in your mouth.
Never moisten your lenses with saliva – it’s full
of bacteria and a potential source of infection.
Makeup dos and don’ts:
- Put your soft lenses on before applying makeup
- Avoid waterproof mascara as it may stain your lenses
- Don’t apply eyeliner to your waterline
- Keep fragrances, nail polish and remover away from
your lenses - Choose water-based foundations as cream may leave
a film on your lenses
Keeping lenses comfortable while styling your hair:
- Blink frequently when blow drying to keep your eyes moisturized
- Keep your eyes closed when using hairsprays and don’t open them until all the spray settles
